It was a long, hot day on Friday at The Show. This was a big meet, with thirteen teams from the southeast Michigan area. And it was definitely some stiff competition: Not only did some teams have performances that would have broken our school records, many would have rivaled our high school team. Despite the tough competition, the Renton teams still delivered some great performances. In the end, the girls’ team placed 6th overall and the boys team 7th.
Our top finishers included:
1st place in 200m hurdles by Avery Turk in 31.42s (new personal record)
2nd place in 1600m by Luke Dulecki in 5:06.77 (new school record)
2nd place in high jump by Jordan Stasak at 5’ 0” (new personal record)
3rd place in 400m by Ian Petrick in 57.11s (new school record)
…and a total of 41 new personal-record performances. Truly a great job by our team!
